Himachal Pradesh Administrative Exam (HPAS) strategy for Prelims:-

Q: What is the HPAS Exam all about?

Ans:- The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (HPPSC) conducts the state civil services examination which is an entrance exam for the administrative post in the government of Himachal Pradesh who is the executing authority or authority of maintaining peace and order in the state government be it SDM, DSP, BDO etc.

Q: Why should I appear for HPAS?

Ans:- Many of you having a dream since childhood to serve the nation or many of you have a lot of grudges against state administration and we often say if I would have been on that side, I would do this or that. So, HPAS provides you with an opportunity to serve as an administrator in the state of Himachal Pradesh and make your dream come true.

Q:  Many say that HPAS is the toughest of all exams in Himachal Pradesh?

Ans:- Totally wrong perspective. It is our mindset and way with which we do the preparation that decides the outcome. So, it is simply a phase of life if we use it correctly, we can easily crack this exam in one go. A systematic study is very important and we in Examlife.info believe that every aspirant is equally capable to crack this exam, the only strategy creates a difference.

Q: Many says that we need to study 14-18 hours per day. That’s not my cup of tea. Should I drop my idea for HPAS?

Ans:- Let us take an example:- Let say there are two friends A and B. Both study in the same college and need to deposit collage fees. A go-to bank to get some cash and during this, he spends 4-5 hours and B act smartly and chooses to go to ATM and he gets the same amount in 5 minutes. So, these competitive exams are not about the number of hours but more about how smartly we study for the exam. Even consistency of 5 hours daily with a systematic study plan can make us topper of this exam.

Q: I can’t go to Shimla or Chandigarh or Delhi for coaching, can I still crack the exam?

Ans:- Right now we are approaching towards the digital age and everything is available on the Internet. Only we need a strong mindset to study with a systematic study plan and follow that religiously. Strong mindset means strong will to crack the exam.

Q: I am working and job shift is morning 9 am till 6-7 pm in the evening. Can I still prepare along with job?

Ans:- It’s very good that along with preparation you have practical knowledge. HPAS is not only about bookish knowledge but more about the dynamic angle of your knowledge that means how practical you are in your approach. So, yes you can crack the exam in the first go. Just make the consistency of 5-6 hours daily and use weekends efficiently. Follow some systematic study plan as well.

Q: I have only one attempt left or this is my last attempt due to my age. I am fearful whether I am able to make this time or not?

Ans:- First, remove this number system from your mind. Just decide that no matter what I have to crack the exam. If you have this kind of mindset that not only you will crack this exam but top in this exam. Also, don’t believe what others say, just trust your potential.

Q: What to follow, there are a lot of books available and I am developing the habit of collecting notes?

Ans:- HPAS needs concept clarity and how you express yourself. HPAS is not about how many books you have. So follow least sources and revise maximum to the maximum and based on that solve maximum questions from Test Series.

Q: How to evaluate my preparation, if I am preparing from home?

Ans:- Evaluation plays a major role in cracking any exam. So, solve maximum questions from the topics you study. Follow Test Series which have some systematic study plan as per topics.

Q: Role of Test Series in clearing this exam?

Ans:- Test Series plays a major role in cracking this exam. For example one question from HPAS 2019 that President grants pardon under which Article. So, if we don’t practice and just read one or two times about President, we will get confused in options. So, it’s very important to solve the maximum question. Last time, in test series we have approx. 3000 questions. So imagine if you are solving 3000 questions before the final exam, you automatically develop strong analytical skills. So it’s important to join Test Series. You can go through our systematic Test Series plan in testseries.examlife.info
