What is the news?

  • Chief Minister participates in National Conclave on Natural Farming.

 

Where it was being organised?

  • Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressed the national conclave on Natural Farming organized at Gujarats Sardar Patel Auditorium, Amul, Anand through virtual medium from New Delhi today.

 

What Prime Minister Suggested?

  • The Prime Minister exhorted the farmers to adopt natural farming to increase their agricultural production and double their income.
  • He said that although the role of fertilizers in the countrys green revolution could not be denied, it was imperative that farmers adopt some alternative technology to check the increasing cost and health damage being caused by pesticides and imported fertilizers.

 

What CM shared?

  • Chief Minister said that the present State Government in its very first budget in the year 2018 launched Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana.

 

For what purpose?

  • To Promote Natural Farming.
  • He said that a provision of Rs.25 crore had been made for this scheme in the state.
  • Chief Minister said that about 1.54 lakh farmer families have adopted natural farming in the state and 9200 hectares land has been covered under the scheme in the last four years. He said a target has been set to bring approximately 12,000 hectares of land to natural agriculture by connecting 1.50 lakh farmers in that year.
  • Jai Ram Thakur said that the State Government was providing 50 percent subsidy up to a maximum of 25,000 rupees on the purchase of Indian breed of cow for natural farming besides five thousand rupees as transport fee. He said that about Rs 46.18 crore has been spent in the last three and a half years under Prakritik Kheti Khushal Kisan Yojana.

What is the news?

  • Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur has congratulated the Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu and his team for being awarded 1st position amongst the Hilly States in the implementation of Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS).

 

Important:

  • National Level award for Hilly States and Himachal Pradesh has been awarded as best performing State amongst the ten Hilly States for the second year in succession. There are 22 different parameters/criteria like Hardware/Software deployment, Network Connectivity, Data Migration, Capacity Building etc. to decide this award.

Who organised this?

  • The Conference on Good Practices in Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) and Interoperable Criminal Justice System (ICJS) was held through online platform at National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), New Delhi today which was inaugurated by Minister of State (Home) and attended by Senior Police Officers of all States and Union Territories.

What is the news?

  • The Regional Hospital, Kullu, has become the first district hospital in the state to provide online registration slips for OPD patients so that they don’t have to stand in queues for long.

 

How it will benefit?

  • Online registration will prevent people from having to wait in line. This will reduce the rush to check-in counters and help keep social distance as well.
  • The provision of rapid health services will be promoted through the adoption of this system and will contribute to improving overall functioning in a systematic order,

What is the news?

  • The central government granted its agreement to include the Renukaji Dam project in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY).

 

About Har Khet ko Pani “Prime Minister Krishi Sinchayee Yojana” :

  • Government of India is committed to accord high priority to water conservation and its management.
  • To this effect Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) has been formulated with the vision of extending the coverage of irrigation ‘Har Khet ko pani’ and improving water use efficiency ‘More crop per drop’ in a focused manner with end to end solution on source creation, distribution, management, field application and extension activities.
  • The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Hon’ble Prime Minister has accorded approval of Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchayee Yojana (PMKSY) in its meeting held on 1st July, 2015.
  • PMKSY has been formulated amalgamating ongoing schemes viz. Accelerated Irrigation Benefit Programme (AIBP) of the Ministry of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation (MoWR,RD&GR), Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP) of Department of Land Resources (DoLR) and the On Farm Water Management (OFWM) of Department of Agriculture and Cooperation (DAC).

What is the news?

  • Linguistic scholar and researcher Biswajit Mandal, who is associated with the Central Institute of Indian Languages, has developed a digital font of the endangered pahari script ‘Pabuchi Lipi’ with the assistance of Yatin Pandit, a local research scholar.
  • Biswajit says that he was able to accomplish the task within a month. He also wanted to create digital fonts for endangered scripts ‘Pandvani’, ‘Bhattakshari’ and ‘Chandvani’.
  • Yatin says it is a historic decision to preserve the ancient ‘Pabuchi Lipi’.

 

Where this script was used?

  • The script was used in ‘Sancha’ to perform ‘tantra’, ‘mantra’, ‘vaastu’ and ‘jyotish’ and used by Pabuch Brahmins in Sirmaur and Chaupal areas of Himachal.
  • The digital font will open a new scope to understand and preserve the ‘Sancha Granth’.
  • Yatin says that most individuals and private organizations are trying to revive the endangered scripts, but there is no support from the government. The endangered script ‘Takri’ was digitised in 2016.
  • He says old scriptures can be digitised and preserved using these fonts in a simple language, for the reference of future generations. A research in ancient scripts will reveal various facts about the history and it is necessary that the government shows keen interest and do the needful.
  • Yatin says that a large number of ‘pandu lipis’ are available with the HP Academy of Arts, Culture and Languages but these are not easily accessible to research scholars, leave aside other individuals.
